Kelly was out of the library for two weeks on vacation.  While gone, she tasked me with updating her display.  This is what I did:

Gingerbread Houses

It's that time of year again...GINGERBREAD HOUSES AT THE LIBRARY!!!!!  The whole library smells amazing.

Kelly's December Displays

Kelly really went all out for December.  She decorated the circ desk:

Happy Holidays!  The OPL displays were varied this month.  Our Owen room display was themed Chill Out and Read:

It wouldn't be December without a food themed display, so our small case was themed Treat Yourself to a Good Book.

Our final big display was themed Seasons Readings

Kelly's November Displays 2!

Happy almost-Thanksgiving!  Kelly put together a fun display to celebrate how thankful we are for our amazing patrons!

Finally, not really display related, but it's the first snow of the season.  The view of our library garden is just breathtaking!!

Our displays were quite eclectic this month!  Our Owen room display celebrates National Aviation Month:

Our small display celebrates November 12, which is National Soup for the Soul Day 

We of course had to have a Thanksgiving display themed Gobble up a Good Book.

Our last display was created by the Oberlin Kids organization.

How to Prank a Librarian

How did you spend your sunday?  I printed out as many of the "Hey Girl" library meme's as possible and posted them all over Librarian Kelly's desk.  The meme's are AMAZING.

When I came in today, Ms. Kelly had put up the OPL Halloween decorations!!!  And they look amazing!  How are you celebrating Halloween?

National Coming Out Day Display!

Because October 11, is National Coming Out Day, Kelly put together an amazing display supporting our LGBT patrons!

October YA and Childrens Displays

The October displays are now up for the Young Adult area and the Childrens room! 

For YA I went with an Undead and Well Read theme

You can't see it but my favorite poster is on the top right hand corner of the display:

The Children's Display was a little more tame, but still monster related!

Adult October Displays

I spent a good chunk of my September working on pictures and themes for the October displays.  Is anyone else SO excited for Halloween?  What will you be dressing as? 

The small display used the theme from Teen Read week a few years ago:  It Came From the Library!!!  Figuring out how to cut out goo was the hardest part:

 

 

 The display back by our Owen room has a Trick or Treat theme:

And finally our display by the computers encourages patrons to not be Scared to read

Kelly's October Displays

Kelly set up some awesome displays to kick off the month of October.  Firstly she did a display on Milt Hinton.  Milt has a huge background from here in Oberlin, and since the Oberlin College Art Museum is displaying pictures of this famous Jazz musician, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to celebrate his life as well!

Next Kelly decided to break the librarian code of conduct and spill the beans about our secret double life!

National Talk Like A Pirate Day is coming up this Friday, September 19!  To celebrate, Kelly put together this awesome display!!!

We, here at the Oberlin Public Library, are very lucky to have the opportunity to display art work by local artist Bernadett Ginestet-Levine.  The pictures I took DO NOT do justice to the beauty of this artwork.  Come in to see this beautiful artwork for yourself!
